Let me tell you about something that happened in Chicago earlier this year. A business owner came to me feeling pretty frustrated. They were spending $8,000 every month on SEO (that’s almost $100,000 a year!), and their reports looked amazing. Their website was getting 50,000 visitors every month, people were spending time on their site, and everything looked perfect on paper.

But here’s the thing – sometimes numbers can be tricky. When we looked closer, we found something interesting: almost none of those visitors were from Chicago.

That might not sound like a big deal until you realize this was a local Chicago business! They were getting tons of visitors from Seattle, Miami, New York, and even Canada. While that might sound impressive, it wasn’t helping them get any actual customers.

Think about it this way: imagine you own a coffee shop in Chicago, but all your advertising is being seen by people in California. Sure, they might love reading about your coffee, but they’re not going to drive across the country to buy it! That’s exactly what was happening here.

When people in Chicago actually searched for their type of business, guess where our Chicago business showed up? Way back on pages 5, 6, and 7 of the search results. They were getting more attention from California than from their own neighborhood!

Here’s where it gets interesting (and don’t worry, this is the fun part!). We used AI to help us create something special: neighborhood-specific content for every major area in Chicago. But we didn’t just write boring “we serve this area” pages. Instead, we:

Instead of 50,000 visitors who couldn’t use their services, they started getting 15,000 visitors who could. Their phones started ringing off the hook with real potential customers.
